AskCR is CR’s AI-powered advisor that answers your questions based on CR’s trusted research and product data. Its strength comes from CR’s 200+ experts, product testers, researchers, and writers. We’re looking for a consultant to evolve AskCR beyond LLM educated guessing to truly leverage the tacit knowledge and reasoning of our subject matter experts (SMEs).
This consultant opportunity will focus on designing and implementing AI systems that incorporate expert reasoning, editorial knowledge, and tacit insights into AskCR’s workflows. This opportunity will span 2-3 months and is remote with the option for hybrid work for candidates located near CR’s offices in New York.
We are Looking for Someone Who Can:
- Survey the landscape of state-of-the-art approaches for incorporating tacit knowledge into agentic AI systems
- Design and implement systems to incorporate CR expert reasoning and editorial knowledge into AskCR
- Work with our experts to create collaborative interfaces to apply their specialized knowledge to agentic workflows
- Develop “reasoning” and “editorial” modules to guide AskCR’s response planning
- Build evaluation frameworks to measure improvements in response quality and accuracy
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Transform AskCR from generic LLM reasoning to genuinely leveraging CR expert insights
- Create a knowledge architecture that incorporates tacit expert knowledge about products, testing, and consumer priorities
- Develop a feedback loop, where SME corrections and insights are continuously integrated back into AskCR’s knowledge base
- Ensure AskCR’s tone, emphasis, and recommendations align with CR’s editorial standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong AI engineering background with experience in LLMs, agentic AI orchestration, and knowledge retrieval
- Experience with interface design and development
- Experience with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation and knowledge graphs
- Passion for consumer advocacy and the ability to think critically about responsible AI development
